Givenchy - Women's ready to wear show Spring/Summer 2018 in Paris (with interviews).

Designer : Clare Waight KellerAtmosphere: A Sunday morning meeting at the Paris courthouse for the first Givenchy collection as designed by Clare Waight Keller. The long arched corridor in the 'Prisoner's Gmmeryserves as the catwalk and backdrop for this mixed collection of men and women with an audience of personalities in the front row including Julianna Morre, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara and Pedro Almodovar. Collection: There are two silhouettes to contend with, one with squared shoulders and wide armholes and the others more fluid with frilled dresses and pleated fabrics. We find the delicate romanticism of the English designer through black and white lace dresses which fall sharply onto the legs. The new Givenchy woman is equally seductive in a zipped miniskirt. The Givenchy man has the allure of a young rock star in slim trousers paired with either a fitted jacket with embellishments on the shoulders or a leather jacket. To note: the leather belted coat of a big outfit, the striped silk shirt without sleeves for the men. The cowboy boots on the feet. The nautical mood seen through a structured pea coat and striped t-shirt. The lips which adorn certain jackets. And the bum bag belt, the future it bag. Interviews from Cate Blanchett, Ana Girardot, Julianne Moore :Ana Giardot:I really like Clare, I’ve been a fan for a long time and I was really curious to see what she was going to do, with a house that for me is emblematic and legendary and she’s succeeded in injecting her ultra-feminine touch and at the same time something quite sexy, quite rock that we’ll want to wear. So I’m in the middle of picking my selection for this year. Cate Blanchett:I love what she was doing at Chloé and she’s just taken it to a whole new level. Where do you start? The sleeves and the fabrics and the subtle use of colour it’s just… I’m so excited, I’m excited for her and I’m excited for women and I’m really excited for Givenchy. Julianne Moore:I love the boots and everythingMusic from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
