Valentino Spring Summer Women Collection 2013 in Paris (itw)
It is always a pleasure to watch a valentino show because there is always a certain romantic force that emerges. for summer 2013, duo maria grazia chiuri and pierpaolo piccioli take over a neo-realist spirit but interpret it in their own way. rigor is expressed through strict silhouettes, almost monastic with the presence of closed collars and plastrons. it mingles with a certain sensuality where a game of transparency, lace and embroideries reign. we see long gowns with coats and short dresses. even for a ready to wear collection craftsmanship through roman ateliers of the valentino house are put forward. moreover, mr valentino garavani and natalia vodianova, sitting in the front row, do not seem to miss anything and comment on each outfit.
music from fashion show
pierpaolo piccioli : maybe sometimes monastic as a long dress, and the more sensual could be short dress. because we think that women are like this, not in only one way, so we didn't want to give stereotypes but a long dress, as more pure, more modern, maybe with transparency, more sensual.
maria grazia chiuri :we believe that now, fashion is also craftsmanship and also in our style, to try new ways, like prints, lace cotton, like custom made in a different way, cotton brocade, we believe that that is also our style.
pierpaolo piccioli : we have a couture house of 40 people in piazza mignanelli - rome so it is a very important atelier. we also wanted to translate the culture.
natalia vodianova : i thought it was imperial but at the same time incredibly modern and i'm just glad that they are using their atelier so well, all the craftsmanship is just to die for
