The festivities begin in milan! italian men’s fashion week starts with a bang with 20 years of dsquared2. the canadian twins celebrate two decades of creation with splendour and a show in a hanger at the heart of one of the newly refurbished areas of town. the collection is both urban and elegant, with multiple creations of jackets, coats, puffer jackets, at the perfect fit and made from luxury material. we rediscover the pieces and materials emblematic of those that gave the label its success, with multiple references to their original designs - jeans, leather detailing, fringing, and motifs. the silhouette is slender, with tight fitting trousers turned up at the ankle. heads are kept warm with shapkas or fur caps, reinforcing the winter impression which reigns on the catwalk. after casual wear, with evening wear there are a multitude of 3 piece costumes featuring gilets or embroidered lapels. to note: the touch of fluorescent pink which illuminates the men’s cloakroom, with a tie or a sublime motorbike jacket. rock, funky and chic. the director of dsquared2 renzo rosso can congratulate himself on having in his group a brand which runs with intelligence, creativity and portability. the show closed with music from mary j. blige on the catwalk, followed by dean & dan caten. interview: renzo rosso: it was unbelievable, we had a lot of fun and enjoyed it. and there was also a lot of class, because they are very pretentious, they are looking for perfect quality, perfect fit. this is why they are very unique. and so it helped me to work with them, and now we are more than people who work together, we are friends. they’re just great.i wish them the best, i think right now they have a big possibility to become a very important brand in an important market. they are already very important but they can become much more important in every single area, to develop and of course i wish them that they can be not only become big and important but they can stay cool.i enjoy every single day and i work with passion. i think this is the big difference between our group and maybe other companies because, i was at margiela’s show last monday in london, and people came to me to say it’s unbelievable to see how we really still focus on the beauty of the product. i think this is why we are where we are.music from the show
