Summer 2016: The Adventurer

This year the man seems more ready than ever to jet off… his adventurous spirit shines out through his allure from accessories to the clothes. armed with back packs and suitcases, he advances always one step ahead. (interviews x 2)indeed behind his traveler look, the man wants to go beyond his limits. he is ready to go and explore unknown lands, aiming to get closer to nature. soft and natural fabrics, sandy, beige, camel, ochre tones…what a chameleon… this man merges into the landscape. this sense of transcendence is felt through the city where the man equally adopts outfits marked by military codes. (interview x 2)the kaki and the camouflage are back, synonyms of strength and courage but are used in a surprising way, they’re more poetic by daring to mix a military spirit with other codes, all whilst keeping the idea of feeling like an explorer. olivier rousteing, carol lim & humberto leon, kris van assche & antonio marrasolivier rousteing:our man is an adventurer, who sets off into the dessert, who wants to discover the world; who isn’t afraid of the horizons or the unknown, who travels. and that is why there are neutral tones but they also show that sometimes the neutral does mean something more. carol lim & humberto leon:this idea of a voyage and almost kind of packing for this voyage and it is about this idea of going beyond your limits. kris van assche:everything is so codified in menswear so when we oppose it all with radically streetwear codes, like the camouflage and cargo trousers for example, they clash and that clash is interesting. antonio marras:we found an equal balance between the sailor and the military man so it is an urban sailor; it is something you could really wear walking down the street every day. music free of rights : bandit & nikit
