Yohji Yamamoto: Men's show Spring/Summer 2019

Designer : Yohji YamamotoInspiration: in his own studio situated in the Marais area of Paris, the Japanese designer presented a collection which was sexier than ever, all whilst keeping his own codes based around black and fluidity. Collection: the men on the catwalk have character and enjoy playing with that, wrapped up in black, fluid suits with trousers and coats which have rounded or detachable cuts making them all the more light, or composed of lots of zips and pockets. Then the motifs take us on an almost cheeky story, with images of different women taking pleasure, notably on the back of long shirts-coats. Here Yohji adds several drawings of flames, flowers, skulls and cross bones, personal sketches but also several colours such as blue for a long shirt, printed with the designer’s head. Without forgetting the play on materials with velvet, leather and linen. To note: the researched comfort with loose pieces, nice to wear, such as these trousers which become long skirts + the detachable collar + the sublime drawings carried out on the clothing and brushstrokes right down to the shoes.Music from the show (for use only in context of this report, under cover of the right to information)
