Etro - Women's Spring/Summer 2019 Collection in Milan (with interview)
Designer: veronica etroinspiration: pacific zencollection: a wardrobe inspired by the californian coast, hawaii, surfing and summer as well as japan. freedom, simplicity and summer are seen through hibiscus flower and palm tree patterns as well as iconic paisley prints, the true signature of the fashion house who celebrates its 50th anniversary.a happy and free patchwork collection.silhouettes are loose and comfortable. we see japanese calligraphy, ikat flowers and patterns decorate coats, beach towels, swimsuits and frilled bohemian dresses.focus on fitted judo jackets, denim patchwork and short neoprene jackets. star surfer victoria vergara comes out with his surf board, others follow with skateboards, ready to skate through the streets of venice beach. interview:veronica etro : and so it’s really a collection about the surf and skate culture of california meeting the martial arts culture of japan. so it’s really this thing about body and mind, about this balance and this continues and let’s say play between mindfulness and physical. and i think the nice thing about this women she’s really free spirited. she loves to live in the outdoor, to recharge, she is like an oxygen seeker, to live out and that’s why the whole collection, she’s like well-equipped to face all the different climates she might meet outside, so she is wearing explorer hats, surf and skateboards, she wearing like beach towels, turbans, bandanas so there is a lot going on in the accessory. we really had fun, it’s like the summer never ended.but even for the paisley i wanted something to be more simple, so i tried to blow them up like there is an orange one, to blow them really up like technicolour and to colour them like monochromatic, so we’ll see them tangerine, lemon, lime, grapefruit like, and everything, i don’t know, it needed to be light. light, fresh and really easy. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
