Saint Laurent - Women's Autumn/Winter 2019/20 Show in Paris (with interview)
Artistic director: anthony vaccarellolocation: a temporary building at trocadero opposite the eiffel tower with illuminous pillars that lighten up the podium.collection: the saint laurent codes are reinterpreted with modernity: transparency, masculine/feminine and animal prints. the silhouette is sensual, legs are enhanced through short shorts in a balloon shape and asymmetric mini dresses decorated with an xxl bow on one shoulder.the designer dreams about the 80s and took inspiration from betty catroux (blonde hair, black glasses), friend and muse of yves saint laurent, whose attitude is translated through hands in pockets, dressed in a dark suit worn with nothing underneath.focus on: men’s coats with large checks, the thin transparent blouse, tuxedos, bomber jackets embroidered with sequins and a colourful finale reflecting in the darkness.note: boots that gather around legs, sandals with wedged soles, men’s big hats and small fishnet knitted beanies embellished with sequins.on the front row: kate moss, charlotte gainsbourg, salma hayek and her husband françois-henri pinault (ceo of kering). interview with anthony vaccarello:i dreamt about them because i was 10 years old and i didn’t see them as something powerful, i saw them as something festive and light even if that wasn’t the case in the 80s. i remember them as light, a strong and confident woman who is not aggressive as i don’t like aggressive women. i like a self-confident woman who isn’t scared and who doesn't fight. this is how i saw the 80s.i believe that women don’t need anything, but as clothes have to be made, this is what i propose.you should finish on a positive and fresh note, something very saint laurent with a mix of colours that are a little risky at times. every season i enjoy proposing something different.music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
