Isabel Marant - Women's Spring/Summer 2020 collection in Paris (with interview)
Designer: isabel marantinspiration: brazil. the designer transports us to a thrilling sunny summer with the sounds of brazilian music, always surrounded by top models such as amber valletta, eva herzigova, anna ewers, gigi hadid, kaia gerber, adut akech.collection: the easily identifiable jackets with big shoulders, made in cotton and denim, with coloured embroidery on the backs. knitwear and macramé are in the spotlight. flowers are found on shirts and frilly swimsuits. the frayed short shorts are worn with frilly tops. the marant girl remains urban and rock, with loose jumpsuits, jeans, romantic blouses, and for the evening, shiny black, golden embroideries, fringes and studded leather.to note: the men are always so attractive, in their sleeveless tops, shirts with flowers or tie dye trousers. interview with isabel marant:in fact, it was through music, i love « balia funk » and it made me want to do a collection around brazil, colour and the beach. and now, with the pre-collections, finally at the shows, it’s really about the summer shows and i wanted to stay on holiday.there’s also an artisanal side that i feel from brazil. me, i see brazil with a flowerpot in a macramé basket. so, all these things that are made by hand, the weaving, the feathers, the pearls, but i also wanted to have a lot of prints. i saw a lot of brazilian artists that i liked as well.and there is always a little rock’n’roll side and even a little urban despite everything and that’s what i like about brazil, it’s the nature in the city, i liked this idea a lot. music from the show (for use only in context of the show, under cover of the right to information).
